Book has excellent content, michmof which is very practical for those who manage assets professionaly and think about things as invesment process and discipline.
No, not all the books content is sexy and at times it is hard to connect the dots. But this is the kind of book that is filled with great insights about a great many investment related things. This book was one of the first out to try to explain what happened to the markets and global economy beginning in and ending with its publication. Although I thought much of it was interesting I didn't feel as though I understood very much why the markets were continuing to break down.
The definitive book on this crisis has yet to be written, and probably won't be until the recession runs its course. While not truthfully impact-full, i did enjoy this book. I do more enjoy the authors television interviews and opt eds.
El Erian is very erudite. As he writes, he is continually giving secondary and tertiary points. It's as though he is reading from an outline. I, A,1. This I found tedious to follow. I think a straight narrative would be more comprehensible. I,also, got the feeling that this book was written with the investor in mind, rather than the student of geo-political events. Go to Amazon.
